What is the Gonilélé?
The Gonilélé (or NGoni lélé) is a West African harp-lute, reimagined as a travel version by Joris Feuillâtre of La Maison du Ngoni. A calabash body, a noble-wood neck, strings tuned to a pentatonic scale: it embodies the union of masculine and feminine, connected to the divine. An intuitive, meditative and deep instrument, for beginners and seasoned musicians alike.

I’ve worked with Joris Feuillâtre since 2018. The Gonilélé has accompanied me through major moments of my life — so it’s only natural that I now represent La Maison du Ngoni and pass this instrument on around me.

A tuning chart included
Every instrument comes with a tuning chart (pentatonic scale, 432 Hz) to help you tune your 10 or 12 strings easily. The full file is shared only with those who purchase the instrument.
